The south east of England is now officially in a state of drought. The region joins parts of eastern England which have been drought-afflicted since last summer, with some reservoirs, rivers and groundwater aquifers in the South East well below normal levels after two dry winters.

2012 defies all predictions

2012 has defied all predictions so far. Buyers and tenants from London are showing an appetite for second homes in the country as well as a move for schools. The London weekend market has been early in good years previously and the level of enquiries in the first weeks is an interesting barometer of the year ahead. Perhaps the country market reality of this year will be better than predicted. In terms of a home in the country for Londoners, it seems to be business as usual.”
